The British Guardian and the foreign news agency have obvious difficulties to understand Hebrew and magnified accordingly the statement of Matan Vilnai, Israel's deputy war minister. The intentions of the Israeli government are for sure bad, but still Vilnai is not that honest to admit that Israel is bring an Holocaust upon the Palestinian

The following translation is correct, but its interpretation is wrong:

The more Qassam [rocket] fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, they will bring upon themselves a bigger shoah because we will use all our might to defend ourselves," Matan Vilnai, Israel's deputy defence minister, told army radio.“

Other than the Guardain claims the word „shoa“ designated not only the Nazi Judeocide but means „catastrophe“ generally. E.g. „shoa atomit“ means „atomic catastrophe“. Used with the definite article "the", in Hebrew the prefix "ha" in this case (it might change in other cases), "ha-shoa" (the catastrophe) means usually the Nazi Judeocide.

Nevertheless it is obvious that the Israeli government and army leaderships prepare something very sinister for the Palestinians in Gaza.

Yesterday in the Israeli Channel 10 TV, Vilnai did not want to disclose the plan, but made it clear that it is very bad and that there will be many Palestinian casualties.

Actually it is very safe to assume that the Israeli army plans to implement the same strategy it used in Lebanon in 2006 and hope that this time it will work.

This means that there will be a massive bombardment of Gaza strip and hundreds of thousands of civilians will flee to Egypt.

Afterwards it would be easier for the Israeli army to apply the German Wehrmacht‘s strategy against the Warsaw ghetto* of burning or destroying in a different way the Palestinian strongholds.

Another Israeli expert talked about the imprisoning of tens thousands. Of course he did not mention the word concentration camps.

It is obvious that there are enough Palestinians who succumbs the Israeli provocations and by firing rockets e.g. on Sderot and Ashkelon give the Israeli leadership the necessary pretext they were looking for.

This is a very old Israeli tactics applied already successfully on the Syrian front before the war of 1967. Then the Syrian, Egyptian and the Jordanian government were foolish enough to comply.

The two Ehuds (Olmerts & Barak) are now very content as hardly anybody is talking about the Winograd report and in the polls their rival Benyamin Nethanyhu becomes weaker and weaker.

In order to prepare properly for the next campaign, one of the Israeli officers in the territories said not long ago, it's justified and in fact essential to learn from every possible source. If the mission will be to seize a densely populated refugee camp, or take over the casbah in Nablus, and if the commander's obligation is to try to execute the mission without casualties on either side, then he must first analyze and internalize the lessons of earlier battles - even, however shocking it may sound, even how the German army fought in the Warsaw ghetto.“ Ha’aretz, 25/01/2002, http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=121553
